Our FDA-approved Fotona® laser, uses the Nd:YAG wavelength to treat spider veins

The Fotona® laser also allows us to reduce fine lines and wrinkles

and improve skin tone and texture.

Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are broken capillaries that commonly appear on the face but can show up anywhere on the body.  These broken blood vessels are a sign of inflammation and become visible when they are enlarged or dilated and are close to the surface.

Causes of Spider Veins:

There are several things that can cause spider veins to become visible.  Although sometimes you may be predisposed due to genetic factors out of your control.  The common causes of spider veins are:

Sun Exposure- excessive heat from sun causes inflammation and enlarged blood vessels

Injury- your body reacts to injury by producing inflammation which can cause the broken capillaries to be more noticeable on the surface skin

Pregnancy- due to hormone fluctuations during pregnancy, visible spider veins are common but are self-limiting.

Best Spider Vein Treatment

Removing facial veins - Facial spider veins, telangiectasias and hemangiomas can be removed with long-pulsed movements causing complete collapse of the blood vessels.  Long-pulse Nd:YAG lasers are the perfect solution for treating several types of vascular lesions. Fotona’s long-pulse Nd:YAG lasers penetrate to a depth of 5-6 mm into the skin, allowing for the most highly effective of treatments.

The laser sends energy through the skin and is absorbed by the blood in the vein, converted into heat causing the vein walls to collapse and become destroyed. The Fotona laser is the best spider vein treatment because unlike other wavelengths of light that affect only the surface layers of skin, the Nd:YAG targets the underlying bundle of blood vessels which is important to ensure long term results.  This process is perfectly safe as the body’s immune system clears away the destroyed tissue just as with a bruise.
